Valve stuck in open position - check for too little valve tappet clearance

If you have a sticking valve along with everything else you need to do to fix the damage and correct the problem, don't forget to check dry tappet clearance. Too little clearance can lead valve's sticking in the open position. Here is a link to how to check dry tappet clearance on a Lycoming engine.
